If you do not have a chimney, a flue can still be readily installed. It can be connected to the top of the stove and run vertically up inside your home then out through the roof or alternatively it can be connected to the back of your stove and go straight through an outside wall then up the outside of your property. If you opt for a flue inside your home, you can also build a fake chimney breast around it to give you that fireplace feel.

To create the false chimney breast a wooden framework was constructed and this was covered in fireboard. Before the stove was fitted the fireplace chamber was lined with rainbow coloured bricks and a honed granite hearth and back panel was fitted.

To finish the fireplace an Aegean limestone surround (Alexandra 54″) was supplied and fitted and the chimney breast was plastered.

The wood burner fire was supplied by Charlton & Jenrick and is Fireline model FX5 which features a curved top. If you live in a smoke-controlled area, these Fireline stoves are DEFRA exempt for wood burning. This means they meet the latest UK Clean Air Act, giving a greener source of heat.

Once the plaster had completely dried out, the customers were able to decorate to complete the new focal point to their sitting room.
