Bathroom Re-Fitting
The small bathroom was fitted with a traditional three piece suite of bath, toilet and pedestal basin. The room was half-tiled, had vinyl wood-effect flooring and a traditional radiator. As well as being a small space the room also had a sloping ceiling over the bath which, of course, is not ideal if you want to avoid banging your head when getting out of the bath!
We gave advice on how the layout could be improved to work with the limitations of the space and sloping ceiling. A design was drawn up that placed the bath and new over-bath shower under the window where the toilet and basin had been.
Everything was stripped from the room, including flooring and tiles. The wall was re-plastered where the tiles were removed and pipe work and electrics were installed ready for the new fittings. Next wall panelling by Nuance (design weathered beam wood) was applied to the walls.
Aquastep flooring in ‘Breton Sire’ was then laid before the bath, toilet, sink where installed. The heated towel rail was supplied by Ideal Bathrooms and is from the Essentials range. A shower was installed over the bath with a shower screen from Ideal Bathrooms. The shower is from Mira and has a programmable control from the circular unit seen above the bath taps. The basin is from supplier Roper Rhodes.
The finished project shows an amazing transformation and illustrates the possibilities of what can be done with a small space.
