Day 1 – Removal of the old shower and other preparations
Our bathroom fitters arrived at the job site here in Devon at the agreed time to remove the existing shower, enclosure and tiling. They then had to amend the pipe work as there was an electric shower in there previously. They amended the pipe work by running a new hot feed from the tank and then our electrician came to the job to isolate the electric from the previous shower.
Our fitters then levelled the shower tray on floorboards with the riser kit – this was a slightly tricky job as the floor boards were quite loose and there was a lot of movement in them.
At the end of the first day all or the removal and other preparation work had been completed, ready for day 2 – and fitting the new shower.
Day 2 – Fitting the new shower
Our bathroom fitters arrived the following day and confirmed all the measurements for the shower wall panelling which needed to be cut to the correct size. Having drawn up the plan the panels were cut (outside the house to ensure it was kept tidy) and then taken up to the bathroom where any amendments we made using a multi-tool. Our fitters then cut two small holes to allow the pipework for the shower to go through and then sealed back the panelling using waterproof adhesive.
After the support bars were fitted the engineers then fitted the shower screen and secured it in place, and using silicone on the shower enclosure and the panelling for the finishing touches also to make sure it was 100% waterproof.
